Funeral tributes

We were recently asked to make a Robin and also Policeman’s helmet.

Both customers who had placed the orders contacted us to thank us and to let us know what a lovely job we had made of them. 

 

We always put 110% into creating these very special designs and a lot of thought and planning goes into making them and choosing the best materials and flowers that would best suit each one.

 

These designs are a loving gesture to someone dear and it is our responsibility to make sure that the floral tributes are of a high standard. 

Candles and Earings

New craft items for sale in the shop this week.  We are very excited about the two new ranges of goods for sale in our shop.

 

We have on display a range of lovely fragrant candles from The Little Candle Company.  The smell gorgeous and reasonably priced at £3.99 each.

Also handmade earrings from Mad Cat Art Studio all the way from the Isle of Skye. £3.50 each.  Lots of fun designs

by Marion Boddy- Evans a well known artist and craft designer from the Isle of Skye.

Jubilee window display

Vicki made an excellent job today putting together our Jubilee themed window display.

 

The window was divided into two sections with modern day and 1950’s theme

 

We would like to say a big thank you to Antiques of Fareham, who are just down the road from us in West Street for letting us use some of their items in the 1950’s section. 

 

The range of flower available to florists then was nothing like what we have now, the florists used locally grown flowers which had limited availability.  Market gardens and local nurseries provided flowers such as Carnations, Chrysanthemums, Gladioli, Dahlias and in the summer months Sweet peas and Sweet Williams.  

At Rawsons we like to support local business by sourcing  locally grown flowers and plants whenever we can, the quality is superb and they are lovely and fresh.

 

So which display do you like the best – the modern day or the 1950’s?

Floristry design

We were asked to create a Sponge Bob in fresh flowers for a customer.    

Latest window design

For our latest window display we decided to go for a different colour scheme and chose teal and orange!

An unusual colour combination but we had interest from people as soon as we started  to put the different designs in the window and enquiries about balloons for forthcoming venues and wedding flowers.   

Sometimes you have to try something different so that it catches the eye and everyone is doing the “vintage” theme

at the moment-we wanted a bit of a wow factor and we got it.

 

Also many thanks to THE WEDDING PROJECT for helping us out with beautiful chair covers for our window display, gave out some leaflets already!
